Post Workout Black Forrest French Toast

  • 2 slices ezekiel bread
  • 2 fresh egg whites
  • 170g Fat Free Chobani yoghurt
  • 1 teaspoon raw cacao powder
  • 1 teaspoon rosewater
  • Liquid stevia drops
  • 5 fresh cherries
  • 1/2 serve vanilla or chocolate WPI


Add the egg whites to a small bowl and then add the liquid stevia to taste.
Soak the ezekiel bread in the egg whites until all liquid is absorbed. Place on a hot, non stick frying pan which has been sprayed with a little coconut or olive oil spray and then brown on each side until golden and crispy. This should take only 2 1/2 minutes on each side. (I use a waffle iron for this step as it makes the process even faster and the toast comes out crunchier!)

In the meantime, mix together the Chobani yoghurt with the rosewater and a little more stevia to taste. Put to one side. Microwave the whole cherries in a small bowl for 1 minute or until soft and warmed through. Put to one side. Then mix together the cacao powder and whey protein with a little water to make a chocolate layer. Add just enough water to make almost a cookie-dough like texture.

After your toast is cooked, take it off the heat and smear each piece with half of the chocolate mixture, then layer with half of the rosewater yoghurt and finish with a garnish of cherries.
