Lamington Fudge Protein Balls

by on July 5, 2020

Lamingtons are an iconic Aussie desert which combines chocolate and coconut, which I’ve used as an inspiration for this recipe.

These are perfectly macro balanced for pre-workout, where John likes to have around 20g each of carbs and protein, and up to 10g of fat to help keep the release of sugar and amino acids a little slower. These protein balls give you energy for your workout, without being heavy or too hard to digest.

They’ll last for up to 5 days in the fridge.

Ingredients
12 dates, roughly chopped
4 scoops chocolate WPI
4 tablespoons cocoa powder
1/2 cup desiccated coconut

Method
Chop the dates and then place in a bowl, and just cover them with boiling water.
Leave to one side for around twenty minutes or until the water is cool and the dates have lost their shape. Blend with a stick blender and then combine with all other ingredients, making the mixture into 8 even sized balls.
Place in the fridge to set for around half an hour.
