I always had an interest in improving your body. My parents tell me stories about how as a youngster, I was adamant about waking up early before school to go running around our house and do my daily pushups and sit ups. I was a three sport athlete all throughout high school, which continued into a couple of years of college football. I found that while I liked the sports, it was the preparation in the weight room that I enjoyed the most. Now where I live, bodybuilding had no scene back in the early 2000’s. I was lucky enough to make friends with the one guy in our area that competed. He helped me through my first prep where I over dieted hard to an emaciated 188 pounds (at 6’2). I competed in several shows over the next year and was hooked. The only problem was, I didn’t look that good. I decided then that I wouldn’t step onstage again until I was a legitimate Heavyweight. I dedicated my school studies to nutrition and read everything I could about training, nutrition and bodybuilding in general. I absorbed everything I could from top prep coaches books, the online forums and individual practice. I started helping others get ready for competition in 2007 mainly because I was the only guy they had known who had competed before. I was actually really honored that they had asked me. Over the years I have been fortunate enough to learn from some of the best minds in the sport including Coach John Meadows and have a prep business that is very rewarding today. Now, I split my time between one-on-one clients (mostly non competitors) and online clients who are looking to get into the best shape of their life either on stage or not. I enjoy what I do, including my work with the Mountain Dog Team and wouldn’t change it for anything in the world.
